Our group is excited to announce that we are recruiting a new PhD student to join the Lei Atmospheric Aerosol Research Lab at the University of Tennessee Knoxville.

We are a growing research team dedicated to understanding atmospheric aerosols and their roles in air quality, cloud formation, and climate. Our work brings together advanced spectroscopy and microscopy, hands on field measurements, and laboratory based experiments to explore the complex physical and chemical properties of atmospheric particles. Students in our group have the opportunity to work with state of the art instruments including O PTIR, AFM, SEM EDS, SMPS, CCNC, and more, while contributing to collaborative projects with national laboratories and field campaigns.

What truly makes our team special is the supportive and energetic environment we strive to create. Graduate students receive close mentorship, opportunities to lead projects, and encouragement to develop their own research ideas. We also value building a strong community within the group through shared fieldwork, data sessions, and hands on training days on our beautiful UTK campus.

We welcome motivated and curious applicants from chemistry, environmental science, atmospheric science, engineering, and related fields. If you are passionate about atmospheric chemistry, eager to gain experience with cutting edge instrumentation, and excited about contributing to impactful research, we would love to hear from you.

Interested candidates can reach out directly to me to learn more about our current projects, research vision, and application process. We look forward to welcoming the next member of our research family.

---Dr. Lei
